"A photograph taken prior to the start of the billiards match at Wolverhampton on 16 February, 1931. Left to right: The Mayor of Wolverhampton (Councillor J. Haddock), Walter Lindrum, the referee Arthur Goundrill, and Clark McConachy. In the centre is the gold cup which Lindrum had recently won with a dramatic comeback in the final against Tom Newman, after conceding 7,000 points start to his 3 opponents in the International Gold Cup Tourney. It was during this match that Lindrum failed to appear at the afternoon session on 19 February.
